Ducati America revealed new 2010 Nicky Hayden Edition 848 during the Laguna Seca race last weekend. The new models is to be sold at a sticker price of $14,495 - $500 more than the ongoing model- and includes a revised LED dash cluster, optional 30mm mirror extensions, and improved aluminum cam belt tensioner pulleys.

New sponsor for Ducati MotoGP team
The Ducati Corse team has signed a new sponsorship agreement with Generali Group, one of the major European insurance companies. Three-year agreement put Generali logos on the Desmosedici GP9 and on the suits of Casey Stoner and Nicky Hayden, as an official sponsor.

Industrial Espionage
MV Agusta ‘s Enrico D’Onofrio is under investigation for industrial espionage relating to his job before at Ducati.
Harley Davidson had bought MV Agusta last year and had appointed D’Onofrio as the managing director on May 1st, 2009. Before his position at MV Agusta, D’Onofrio held a senior management position.
According to D’Onofrio’s lawyer, Alessandro Diddi: the Finanza seized a computer where they believe that certain files are contained.” Diddi also stated that “his client had not taken any proprietary information, and the only documents he took with him when he left Ducati were available in the public domain”. Didde also added that “there is nothing that D’Onofrio has used these data to the benefit of the new employer.”
There has been no comment from Ducati.

Naga and Fabrizio, 1st and 2nd, TWICE!
Noriyuki Haga took double victory on Sunday’s WSBK race, followed by his DucatiXerox team mate Michel Fabrizio in second place for both races.

Dr. Maurizio Zorio and his team carried out the surgery and inserted a metal plate to stabilize the two cervical vertebrae fractured in the crash. In addition a fragment of bone that had lodged close to the spinal cord was also removed and plastic surgery was carried out on the relevant area with a skin graft from the hip.
According to Mandy Toubkin, spokesperson for Sunninghill Hospital in Johannesburg, “the operation went well and the neuro-surgeons are satisfied by Laconi’s progress and that the French rider’s health is stable.”
Paul Louis Coulignon, lawyer and Laconi’s friend however has said:“that the doctors have found that his left leg is paralyzed, but it’s early to say if the paralysis is temporary or permanent and that he comunicates only by hand squeezing.”
If all goes according to plans, but not before May 30th, Laconi will be flown to Paris where he will continue his recovery.

Laconi has responded well to cure and doctors are confident in a full recovery of Laconi situation and they will be operating on the spinal cord May19th, 2009. Dr. Maurizio Zorio, considered one of the best neurosurgeons, will be in charge of the operation.
Even though Laconi was under sedation, at a brief moment that he was lucid, he exchanged some ironic jokes with the doctors. Regis’s father will be expected in Joannesburg tomorrow and will give the permission to operated on his son.
