Number 7, Carlos Checa on his Althea racing privateer Ducati finished first on the second race by passing Leon Haslam on the last lap in a surprising fashion.

First race of the 2010 WSBK season ended with one of the closest finishes in racing. 0.004 seconds was the difference between 1st place winner Leon Haslam and Michel Fabrizio. After Fabrizio was declared the winner, the decision was reversed rightfully by photo finish.
